Obre Virginia Sisneros

Obre Virginia Sisneros (Abselia Afreciano DeHerrra), a beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away on February 16, 2026, at her home in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 84. Born on February 28, 1941, in Costilla, New Mexico, Obre was the daughter of Frank and Anna DeHerrera. She spent her first six years with her eight siblings in Costilla where she was instilled with the traditions and values of her parents. In 1947 the family relocated to the quaint town of Wattenberg, Colorado. After attending high school in Brighton, Obre married Gabriel Sisneros in September of 1959. Shortly after their marriage, they relocated to Denver, where she dedicated herself to her role as a loving wife and mother. Together, they raised four children. Her family grew even larger with the birth of 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Obre is survived by her children, Albert Sisneros, Robert Sisneros, Elizabeth Silvas, and Daniel Sisneros as well as many extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Obre is preceded in death by her husband Gabriel, both parents and her eight siblings.

Rosary and vigil service will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 5pm followed by Mass on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 1pm, both at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood 80227.
