Loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Norman, passed surrounded by family on January 15, 2022 at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado.
Norman Dale Staples was born on November 16, 1947 in Coalville, Utah. The son of Paul and Violet (Dillistone) Staples.
On May 10, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Staples, who preceded him in death after almost 52 years of marriage.
Norman retired from RTD after 30 years of service. He started out as a diesel mechanic and over the years worked his way up to Operating Division Maintenance Manager.
Some of Norman’s greatest joys in life were spending time in the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, and being involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed tinkering on things around the house, and his car. After retirement, he spent several hours building a “get away” home in Walsenburg, CO. He loved traveling with his wife to see the amazing wonders of the world, spending time with his family and grandkids.
Norman is survived by his children Marty (Miriam) Staples, Michael (Realle) Staples; Laura (Jerret) Oliver; grandchildren Violet, Wyatt and Maxwell; brother, William (DiAnn) Staples; sister, Carol (Byron) France; brother, Rodney (Carla) Staples; and sisters, Marie Cowley and Glenda Staples.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Staples, parents and sister Anita Louise.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boy Scouts of America.
A Viewing/ open house will be held on Monday January 31, 2022 from 6-8pm at Horan & McConaty 5303 E County Line Rd, Centennial
