With his engineering knowledge and passion for cars, he worked for several companies that benefited from his expertise. He loved the outdoors, and after retiring, he used his design skills to pursue landscaping, designing, and building decks, bridges, ponds, and pathways.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Jean Wenszell, born June 10, 1935, who passed away June 3, 2016. Norman is survived by his son, Gregory, his daughter, Christine, and her husband John, and granddaughter Christa, along with his brother, Donald, eleven nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
