Nicole Slack

Nicole Schmidt Slack, a devoted mother, loving sister, and kind-hearted friend, passed away on May 25, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 66.

Born on August 17, 1958, in Norfolk, Virginia, Nicole spent most of her life in Lakewood, CO where she built a life filled with warmth, generosity, and creativity. She worked as a financial advisor, bringing both sharp insight and genuine care to her clients—many of whom became lifelong friends.

Nicole had a gift for making others feel seen and valued. Her creativity came to life in the beautiful scrapbooks and handmade cards she crafted for friends and family. She found joy in cooking and baking, especially the comforting Italian dishes passed down through generations. Whether she was planning her next trip around the world or hosting loved ones at home, Nicole approached life with joy, grace, and an open heart.

Above all, Nicole cherished being a mother. Her pride in her son, Hogan Slack, was immeasurable. She found deep purpose in nurturing him, supporting him, and celebrating his life and accomplishments with boundless love.

Nicole’s Catholic faith grounded her in times of both joy and sorrow. She also had a generous spirit, actively supporting causes close to her heart, including Food Bank of the Rockies, No Kid Hungry, Doctors Without Borders, and the Shark Box Theater Company.

She is survived by her beloved son, Hogan Slack, and her sister, Maryann Deal, along with many dear friends and extended family members who will miss her kindness, her laugh, and her ability to make any moment feel special.

A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2–3 PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E. County Line Rd. Centennial, CO followed by a reception from 3–5 PM at the same location. All who knew and loved Nicole are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
