She worked different occupations throughout the years, especially as her six children started their own families and lives, but she never relinquished her role as the family’s matriarch and beloved elder. Neva was a member of the Thornton United Presbyterian Church for 55 years until its closing in 2015, and then became a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Neva was a loving mother and homemaker. She and her husband John, provided well for their family. She was resourceful, prudent, patient, kind and caring, and used these qualities to guide her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved each and every member of her family unconditionally, and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She was a devoted Christian, and regularly attended church services. She and her husband John enjoyed traveling. While raising her family, she and John took their children on many camping trips and vacations in their truck and camper, trips which her children remember fondly. In retirement, Neva and John traveled extensively in their RV, enjoying many family reunions and trips all over the world in their blessed lives.
