On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, our loving and beautiful mother, Nelsi Josefa Laborda, passed away at the age of 87 surrounded by family in our Aurora, Colorado home. Nelsi was born in Tacamara, Oriente, Cuba. She was beloved by all who came in contact with her. She enjoyed having family around her and welcomed them in their home for holidays and just dropping by for visits. Food was always at the center of our family celebrations and get togethers and everyone always left the house with a smile on their face and a very full stomach.
Words just cannot express how much she will be missed. She will be in our hearts forever! Nelsi is survived by her two sons, Pascual (Karen) and Jose (Mona). Her sisters, Nelida Sanchez and Nelfa Castaneda, and brothers Joaquin and Jose Gomez. She is also survived by a loving extended family that includes numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She now joins her beloved husband, Raul, her parents Jose and Cecilda Gomez, sister-in-law, Michele Gomez, brother-in-law, Miguel Antonio Sanchez, grandson Kyle Laborda, nephews Jose Castaneda and Antonio de Miguel Sanchez, in Heaven and in the Loving Arms of God.
The family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.
