Much too soon⦠Nathan (Nate) Behunin of Arvada, Colorado, born in Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado on August 16, 1981 â Passed April 19, 2015â¦Age 33 Nate graduated Arvada West High School in 2000 and continued his education at Colorado State University receiving his BS in Environmental Health in the winter of 2009. More recently, Nate had been working on his CPA license requirements at Metro State. A young man of many interests, talents, and goals yet to be attained, Nate was a perfectionist's perfectionist accepting no less of himself and of those around him. Whether Nate worked in construction, interning, or studying, the effort he put forth in these endeavors required peak performance and, if by any chance errors were made, they were required to be perfect as well. ""If you're going to do something wrong, do it perfectly wrong."" There wasn't anything Nate felt he could not do and indicative of Nate's ""can do"" attitude was his determination and mindset to learn, complete, and perfect whatever he had started. His dad has very proudly noted that Nate had grown into one of the finest finish carpenters and tile installers he has seen. Another of Nathan's drive for excellence is his devotion to working out - as evidenced by his commitment to this discipline. You could find him at the gym with his best friend at any given hour, yes, even 3 a.m. Music played a very big part in Nate's life. He loved all eras and genres and especially enjoyed challenging everyone to a game of ""name the artist"" identifying who sang a particular song. The more playful side of Nate would challenge you to continue to listen as he played the same song over and over, and over again. In addition to music, Nathan loved puzzles and was an avid sports fan with strong devotion and loyalty ties to the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and all Denver teams. When Nathan found something he loved, he put all his energy into it and gave it everything he had. Laid back and never known to follow the crowd, Nathan was an out-of-the-box thinker, he did not adhere to what most would consider normal standards. When thoughts and ideas would start to formulate in his head, one could almost see the wheels of wonder and innovation start to turn. He never did anything the way he was supposed to. A tee shirt and jeans kind of guy, he was always running around with a baseball hat on to cover that mop top head of hair. Which is ironic considering he was terrified that it was all going to fall out. Nate was a very generous man, quick to lend a helping hand and to give back to those he loved. Intolerant of hatred and bullying, Nathan would stand up in an effort to defend and protect a victim of these hateful crimes. Nathan's overwhelming passion for life, his family and his family of friends were constant and, although he was a man with a sometimes tough exterior, and a sometimes take me as I am attitude, Nathan was also a man with a very soft, loving, gentle and caring soulâ¦. We loved you dearly Nathan. You had so much to live for and so much more to give, you will be missedâ¦. Much too soonâ¦.
