Nancy Ione Smalle

Nancy Ione Smalle passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024 at the age of 83 at Sky Ridge Medical Center. She was born on April 27, 1941 in Santa Monica, CA to Robert and Ione Brooks.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Louis, son, David, grandson, Carter, and sister, Barbara. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ione, father, Robert, and brother, Robert Jr.

A California girl at her core, Nancy grew up in the quaint town of Fillmore, which instilled in her a kind heart and strong sense of community.  She graduated from UC Santa Barbara and went on to travel the world, working as a civilian in the Army, based out of Germany.  However, her true joy was her role as a homemaker, where she was the driving force behind her family’s wonderful life in Colorado. 

Nancy was a nurturer of all even in her final days, and truly a selfless soul.  She was a loving wife, all-star mother, sweet “Nana”, and endlessly thoughtful friend.  Those lucky enough to know her will miss her otherworldly hosting abilities, kind smile, infectious optimism & unexpected phone calls or handwritten cards.  Nancy Smalle was truly one for the ages.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Horan & McConaty in Centennial (5303 E County Line Rd).  The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
