With gentle grace and a deeply kind soul, Nancy Ann Arciniegas passed away peacefully on June 30, 2020, following several years of navigating a difficult progressive neurological condition with dignity and strength.

Born in the heart of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in October 1938, Nancy’s life was defined by an extraordinary devotion to the care of her family and an unwavering commitment to the service of others. From her youth, she stepped into leadership and community roles, notably serving as the local chapter President of the Rainbow Girls, an organization that fostered her lifelong dedication to service and leadership.

Nancy channeled her innate compassion into a career as a registered nurse. She touched countless lives on the hospital floor before stepping away to dedicate herself fully to raising her family. Later, when her children were older, she returned to nursing, once again bringing her comforting presence and medical expertise to those in need.

She was the beloved wife of Eduardo Arciniegas, with whom she shared a beautiful, lifelong partnership and a shared passion for exploring the world. Together, they traveled extensively, collecting a lifetime of memories across the globe.

As a mother, Nancy was unmatched. She was fiercely and lovingly devoted to her sons, David and Scott Arciniegas, supporting them wholeheartedly in every single undertaking from their childhood adventures through to their accomplishments as adults. She took immense joy in watching her family grow, eventually becoming a proud and doting grandmother of two.

Nancy had a vibrant, artistic spirit. In her youth, she expressed her joy through movement as an accomplished dancer and dance teacher. That same creative energy made her a hostess par excellence and a truly talented gourmet cook. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where a beautifully prepared meal and an elegant table were always waiting for family and friends.

No time of year captured Nancy’s bright spirit quite like the holidays. She was a passionate lover of all things Christmas, filling her home with festive magic, traditions, and an abundance of love that her family will cherish forever.

Nancy lived her life with an open heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, gentleness, and legacy of unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her sons, her grandchildren, and the many lives she touched.

The family requests that donations be made in Nancy’s honor to the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, to a non-profit dance organization for children, or a to charity or institution supporting research in neurocognitive disorders.
