Obituary

Molly Elizabeth Nichols

December 13, 1981 – November 1, 2026

Molly Elizabeth Nichols passed away on November 1, 2026, at 8:50 a.m., at the age of 44, following a courageous 14-month battle with colon cancer. Born in Pasadena, California, Molly moved to Colorado with her family in 1990.

Molly truly was one of a kind. Loyal to a fault, fiercely patriotic, stubborn, and a true spitfire, she had a personality that was impossible to forget. She was unapologetically herself, never afraid to speak her mind or stand up for what she believed in. Above all, she fiercely protected those she loved. If Molly had your back, you never had to wonder where you stood.

Family was at the center of Molly's life. The oldest of seven siblings, she paved the way for Daniel, Maggie, Katie, Ellie, Joe, and Peter. She was the beloved daughter of David Nichols and the late Lisa Nichols, who passed away in 2007. She was a devoted sister, aunt, partner, niece and friend. She held a special place in her heart for her nephew, Lincoln Nichols Henry, and nieces, Harper Moyer and Davie Nichols.

For six wonderful years, Molly shared her life with her devoted boyfriend, Dustin Sanchez. Their relationship was an important part of her life, and she never hesitated to express her love and appreciation for him. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, and their beloved animals.

Molly had a special tenderness for animals and a deep appreciation for nature. She adored her dogs, Lea and Roxy, her cat, Miley, her plants, and had a particular fondness for elephants. In addition, Molly had a deep love for her country and a strong admiration for the military. Some of her happiest moments were spent enjoying life's simple pleasures: being with family and friends, sharing laughter, having fun, and making memories with the people she loved.

Molly embraced life on her own terms. She didn't need to be perfect, didn't follow anyone else's rules, and certainly didn't like being told what to do. Her independent spirit, unmistakable personality, and ability to bring laughter into a room made her unforgettable.

During her 14-month battle with cancer, Molly faced more than anyone should ever have to endure. She met each challenge with determination and courage. Yet, she never wanted cancer to define her, and it never will. Her legacy is not the disease that took her life, but the love she gave, the laughter she shared, the people she stood up for, and the memories she created along the way.

Molly leaves behind a family who loved her beyond words, along with countless friends and loved ones whose lives are forever changed by having known her. Though her time here was far too short, her impact will never fade.

Molly was fiercely loved, fiercely herself, and will be fiercely missed.
