Mogens B. ""Jake"" Jacobsen, MD

Mogens B. (Jake) Jacobsen, MD passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 5, 2014. He was a loving husband and father, physician, and friend. Born in Nyborg, Denmark in 1930, Jake immigrated to the United States in 1950, attended medical school at the University of Michigan, and served in the U.S. Military during the Korean War. He was an avid gardener, animal lover, and Denver Broncos fan. Jake is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cecilia, his children Eric (Jennifer), Krista, Britta, and Curt (Kimberly); grandchildren Elsie, Jack, and Simon; and beloved boxer Sierra, all of whom will miss him greatly. A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M.on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard, Denver. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts in his name to the Denver Hospice or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
