Milton J Mechura, of Aurora, CO, passed away Nov 28, 2017, age 85. Born in Walcott Township, Minnesota, March 10, 1932, Milton was the first born of eight children of late Joseph and Marie Mechura (Fairbault, Minnesota). He served in the Air Force from February 29, 1952 to August 31, 1979. He enlisted every 4 years on leap year day and would leap forward into his new enlistment. He met his wife, Evelyn (Dottie) Maze (also serving in the Air Force) while at Roslyn Air Force Base in Long Island, New York. He came from a farm in Minnesota and she was from the city Boston, MA. They had a great life stationed in many different locations, Roslyn, New York, San Francisco, CA (Ft. Miley); Laon, France; Lebanon, ILL (Scott AFB, ILL); Kansas City, MO (Richards Gebaur, AFB); Rome, NY (Griffiss, AFB), and Aurora, CO (Lowry, AFB). When they moved to Colorado, he loved the sunshine so much he stated “This is where I want to retire”. He learned to use the computer at 70 years young, and loved to organize. He loved ice cream cakes on his birthday and Father’s day. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Mechura; 5 children, Gary, Linda, Curtis (wife Marcia), Bruce, and Cindy (husband John Bailey); and 2 grandchildren, Elektra and Joel. Memorial Donations may be made to Parkview Church, 12444 E Parkview Drive, Aurora, CO 80111. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 12/7/2017, 9am. Funeral service to follow at 10am at Parkview Congregational Church, 12444 E. Parkview Dr., Aurora, CO. Burial will take place following the service at Ft.
