Obituary

Milo Kenney Tedstrom, Jr., 91, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on the morning of October 21, 2026.

Milo was born November 17, 1934, in Santa Ana, California, and graduated from Santa Ana High School. He attended the University of Colorado, where he earned bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and Business in 1957.

Following graduation, Milo began his professional career with Amoco Chemicals Corporation as a sales trainee. In 1958, he entered the Navy Critical Skills program. That same year, he married Susan Anne Finley, beginning a marriage that would span 50 years and take them on adventures around the world.

Milo enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career with Amoco, holding a variety of positions in manufacturing, marketing, and management. His career took the family to several locations, including Sydney, Australia, where they lived for six and a half years.

It was in Australia that Milo developed one of his great lifelong passions: sailing. He learned to sail and enthusiastically introduced his three sons, Peter, John, and Eric, to the sport. Over the years, the family-owned four sailboats and spent countless memorable hours on the water. Milo was actively involved with the Botany Bay Sailing Club, and sailing became an important part of the family's life.

After retiring from Amoco, Milo earned his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1995 and worked for five years as a financial planner. In 1998, he and Susan moved to Denver, where they enjoyed an active retirement.

Golf was another of Milo's great passions. He particularly enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie he found at Lakewood Country Club. Whether on the golf course, aboard a sailboat, or traveling to a new destination, Milo embraced opportunities to stay active, explore, and enjoy life.

Milo and Susan shared 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2008. In 2010, Milo met Lee, bringing a wonderful new chapter into his life. They married in 2012 and enjoyed many happy years together, including extensive international travel and time spent with family and friends.

Throughout his life, Milo believed strongly in giving back to his community. He served as Chair of the Mission Committee at Roswell Presbyterian Church, participated on committees at Central Presbyterian Church, and served on the boards of New Genesis and Metro Caring. His commitment to these organizations reflected his belief in helping others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Above all, Milo was devoted to his family. He took great pride in his three sons and their families, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow into adulthood. Family gatherings, shared adventures, and time spent together brought him enormous happiness.

Milo is survived by his three sons: Peter Tedstrom and his children, Wesley and Haley; John Tedstrom and his wife, Carri, and their children, Charlie, Connor, and Anna; and Eric Tedstrom and his wife, Landra, and their children, Bowen, Kyla, Brenna, and Cooper. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, along with extended family and many cherished friends.

Milo will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of sailing and golf, his dedication to his family, and his commitment to serving others. He lived a full and remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of wonderful memories and a family who loved him deeply.
