Mickey H.K. Jones

                                                                                                      A Hero's Story

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Mickey H.K. Jones, our Rockstar and forever our Legend, who died peacefully on July 1, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born Heber K. Jones on December 22, 1943, in Loma, Colorado, he earned the nickname Mickey early on thanks to his quick wit, and it stuck with him for the rest of his life. Mickey lived a life defined by devotion to his family, quiet strength, kindness, and integrity. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose steady presence and generous heart touched everyone who knew him.

He shared a loving marriage with Doris, who he always considered the best thing that ever happened to him. She was his soulmate and best friend. He cherished her deeply, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others. Through life's joys and challenges, they remained devoted to one another, creating countless cherished memories.

Mickey was the proud father of Greg (Joni), Ginger, Jeff (Vicki), and Matt, and a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family and watching the generations that followed him grow and thrive.

He was the owner of a rock crushing business, where he was respected for his dedication, honesty, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he loved fishing and hunting, and he squeezed in as many trips as he could to Alaska and British Columbia, always ready to catch the next biggest salmon. He was also an avid reader of non-fiction and a true history buff, always eager to learn something new.

Mickey's faith was central to his life. He served in several leadership positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Bishop, Area Missionary Presidency, and Patriarch. He looked forward to his next calling, to serve as a missionary in the next life.

In his final weeks, he faced serious illness with courage and grace. He always maintained his quick wit, joking with family and the sweet nurses who took care of him. Even during difficult days, he remained grateful for the love and support of his family and the compassionate care he received. He passed peacefully while his son Greg read him his personal history and showed him pictures of the people he loved dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris; his children; his grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and four of his five siblings.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 13370 Lowell Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80020.Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to listen to a violinist and pianist play our Daddy's favorite church hymns.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
