Michelle "Mitch" Ann Cleveland

Michelle “Mitch” Cleveland (nee Hanson), age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 25, 2026. Timeless loving Wife of 58 years to Henry “Buzz” Cleveland. Cherished Mom of Matthew (Heather), Andrew (Kathleen), Alaina, and dear Nana/Grammy to Hannah, Riley, Dylan, Allison, James Tyler “JT”, Andrew, Tommy and Owen. Sister of Karen and Sherry, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beloved friend to many, particularly those members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Noreen Hanson, and her grandson, Dylan James Cleveland.

She was born on December 19, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Jim and Noreen Hanson. While attending George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado, Mitch found her “forever” person, Buzz. They were married in Denver, Colorado on August 3, 1968, and sealed in the LDS temple in Provo, Utah. She attended Colorado State Teachers College (University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley, Colorado. Mitch dedicated her life to children, working as a school teacher, but what she loved most was the time she was known as the “baby whisperer” as she spent time as a “cuddler” in the NICU at Presbyterian-Saint Luke’s Medical Center holding and giving love to babies who needed it most.

Mitch built a life full of family, faith, service and love. She dedicated her life to raising her three children while creating a warm, loving home. She was a proud homemaker and loved cooking with her children and grandchildren. The house was rarely absent of homemade cooking, including her beloved cookies and other baked treats. She was actively involved in her Church and community – making sure that others were provided for through meals, friendship or just love in general. She was widely known and respected as one of the most charitable, kind and loving persons. She touched so many lives. Her love remains a guiding presence for all who knew her.
