Michelle Keller-Kiefer was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on November 7, 1954. Michelle passed away in Englewood, Colorado on January 27, 2020. Michelle's last moments were spent with her family and loving husband Frederick (Fred) P. Kiefer. After spending her childhood in Rapid City, Michelle moved with her family to Denver, Colorado where she completed her formal education. Michelle earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees in the Classics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Later Michelle moved to Tucson, Arizona where she earned a Ph.D. in English at the University of Arizona. Everyone who met Michelle was struck by her brilliance and her enthusiasm for the culture of ancient Greece and Rome. Articulate and perceptive, Michelle was the kind of person who lit up any room. Michelle's character was everyone's best friend, she was generous and kind to everyone she met. In her younger days Michelle was a formidable tennis player in a sport that she truly loved. Twelve years ago, Michelle married Fred, a full time professor at the University of Arizona, the man Michelle so loved and admired. They had a relationship filled with long conversations, in-depth critiques of literature and a deep love for travel. Fred and Michelle's souls shall forever be together. As Michelle's health declined Fred made sure Michelle knew she was loved on a daily basis which meant so much to her and everyone around her. Michelle is survived by Fred her loving and devoted husband, Michelle's brother, Michael Morrison and his three sons Alex, Nick and Greg, and Michelle's sister Melissa Gentry. Michelle will be greatly missed and always remembered for the wonderful person she was.
