It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Michelle J. Buss. She passed away peacefully at her home in Denver, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Michelle was the cherished wife of Colonel (Ret.) Robert E. Buss, her husband of over 54 years. Together, they built a life full of love, adventure, and shared dreams. She was a devoted mother, fierce supporter at every athletic event, and a loyal protector when needed. She is survived by her three children: Amy (Buss) Ducker and her husband Tim, Robert Buss and his wife Cara, and Krysten (Buss) Crews and her husband Eric. Michelle also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren— Aiden (Tim & Amy); Crosby, Keaton, & Harlow (Robert & Cara); Owen, Leah & Brady (Eric & Krysten) — whom she adored and supported in every way.
Professionally, Michelle spent many years as a skilled dental hygienist. In addition to her career, she dedicated herself to raising her children and creating a warm, welcoming home. Family, friends, adopted pets, and her children's friends always found comfort and care within the Buss household.
Michelle spent the majority of her life in Kansas but also embraced the adventures that came with moves to Utah and later to Colorado. Each place brought new memories and meaningful relationships with new friends.
In retirement, Michelle found great joy in traveling and spending time with her family. Known affectionately as “Nana”. She lovingly crocheted blankets for each of her grandchildren and many extended family newborns. Each blanket was a symbol of her love, offering warmth and comfort just as she did in life.
Michelle’s warmth, grace, and unwavering dedication to those she loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
