Michael Konstantine Michelis

Michael Michelis, age 87, died peacefully in his home in Denver on June 20, 2023. He was born in Linistena of the Peloponnese region of Greece on January 4, 1936. At the age of 18, Michael enlisted in the Greek Military. He later met and married his wife Theodora at the age of 30, and following their wedding, immigrated to the United States. He worked in the hospitality industry upon moving to Denver and became an active member of the Ahepa Chapter 145. After many years of hard work and dedication, Michael purchased a small apartment. Soon after, he was able to purchase larger multi-family units, and eventually traded into shopping centers, successfully building a large real estate portfolio. Michael unfortunately suffered from diabetes and dementia- both of which contributed to his decline and untimely death.

Michael is survived by his wife, Theodora, their son, Konstantine, their daughter Ayyelikh (Kiki), and two grandchildren, Michaela and Theodore. He is also survived by two sisters, Nicoletta and Penelope, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Maria.

There will be a wake (trisaigion) service held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 7pm at the Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11am also at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial services will follow immediately after the funeral service at Fairmount Cemetery. Guests are invited to join the family back at the church for Makaria following the burial at approximately 2pm.
