It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Michael Allan Williamson, 69, of Lakewood, Colorado. Mike left us to be with his Lord on Friday, September 18, 2026 in Littleton, Colorado. He was born on November 13, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas to Billy "Bill" Merle Williamson and Betty Mary (née Roberts) Williamson. On August 9, 1986, he married his soulmate, Joan Elizabeth Gregory, in Barrington, Illinois.
Professionally, Mike was a software executive in the oil and gas industry. In 1991, he and Robin Gregory, his friend and business partner, started their own business ultimately called Bolo Systems. Together their company flourished and assisted many longterm clients with their data management needs until his retirement in 2020.
Over the years, his colleagues quickly became family. Mike would often look forward to spending time with them long after his retirement.
Outside of work, Mike's passions included biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking, baseball and traveling the world. Memorable trips included kayaking the Nā Pali Coast off Kauai, traipsing around Europe, and roaming through South Africa on safari with Joan. While Mike loved to experience life, he was no stranger to a good nap, and lounging on the beach in Cancun was enjoyed many times. Every year, Mike looked forward to Spring Training trips with his father, brothers, and nephews to watch his favorite baseball team, the Kansas City Royals. And of course, if the Broncos were playing anywhere, Mike was watching and cheering them on!
In Colorado, Mike and Joan often hosted family and friends at their home in Breckenridge, where hiking, biking, and skiing were crowd favorites. For years, Mike conquered thousands of miles of bike trails, exciting ski slopes, and multiple 14,000 foot peaks! He was always up for adventure and shared many memories with his family exploring the outdoors.
Beyond Mike’s passions, the love he shared with his family and friends was nothing short of unconditional. Without hesitation, Mike was present for his family’s biggest moments and their littlest memories - weddings, graduations, holidays, baseball games, ballet performances, gymnastics meets, Girl Scout Cookies, moving days, family dinners… the list is never ending. Mike’s appreciation of every precious moment was remarkable, and his playful nature and unwavering pride for his family was admired by all. His greatest loves were his wife of 40 years, and his children and grandchildren who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Survivors include his wife Joan, their two girls Karen (& Brandon) and Megan (& Chris), and their grandchildren Emmalyn, Miles, Presley, Lucas, and Levi. Additional survivors include his brothers Steve (& Marta), and Randy; and a sister Ann (& Lin); plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends, all of whom he cared for deeply. He was predeceased by his parents Bill (2011) and Betty (2012), and two brothers Tim (2025), and Dave (2026).
The family would like to thank the staff at The Manor on Marston Lake in Littleton, CO for their compassionate care of Mike in his last days, and his additional personal caregivers who ensured that he was able to pass peacefully without pain. Sonia .... you went above and beyond every day to be sure his needs were met. It was very appreciated.
