Obituary

Michael Lynn Sims was born July 8,1951 to Ray Lee Sims and Johnnie Lee Gray (Gurley) in Springfield, Missouri.

Michael passed away March 3rd, 2026 in Aurora,CO surrounded by his children and family.

In his lifetime he was a preacher, EMT, owned a small food restaurant, The Tri-Me in Fredonia, KS, road paver, and ended his career being a Parts Manager for Automotive Dealerships.

He enjoyed climbing mountains in his younger years, particularly 14ers, camping anywhere and everywhere, rock hounding, watching football, GO Broncos, bird watching, he sure loved his binnoculars for that, traveling, spending time with his kids and in his last few years he enjoyed watching Soccer (Football) , GO Manchester United! Michael absolutely adored his two chihuahua's Ralphie and Lily and they spent their days lounging all together! He was a knight in shining armor to his late wife April, along with being a loving and involved father, son, brother, cousin and friend to many.

Michael is preceded in death by his Wife, April Sims, Son's Joe B and Christopher Sims, Brothers Danny and Charles Sims, Sister Lorraine Marr, Granddaughter Abigail Urdahl, his Mother Johhnie Gray and his Stepfather Bud Gray.

Michael was a believer of the bible and had his own relationship with The Lord. He was a great man and honorary Dad to many. He is what made our family whole and he will be greatly missed by all.
