Celebrating the Life of Michael L. Robertson
In Loving Memory of Michael L. Robertson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael L. Robertson, who departed this life on September 15, 2025, at the age of 66. Michael was cherished by all who knew him—as a devoted husband, loving father, supportive brother, and loyal friend.
Early Life and Education
Born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on August 18, 1959, Michael was the second son of Millard Larence and Ruby Yvonne Robertson. His formative years were spent in Oklahoma, surrounded by a close-knit family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. During his high school years, Michael’s family relocated to Colorado, where he attended both Greeley High School and Columbine High School. An exceptional athlete, Michael excelled in all sports and took pride in playing golf for both schools. After graduating, he returned to Oklahoma and earned his degree from The University of Oklahoma in Norman.
Family and Marriage
While attending the University of Oklahoma, Michael met the love of his life, Jodie Matteson. The two were married on February 12, 1983. Together, they built a life in Colorado and welcomed two sons, Tyler Michael and James Matthew. Michael’s family was his greatest joy, and he was dedicated to being a loving husband, caring father, and steadfast provider and protector.
Career and Dedication
Michael’s commitment extended beyond his family to his professional life. He spent his career working in logistics at Pacific Shipping and Trucking, where he was known for his unwavering dedication, striving for perfection, inspiring and expecting passion in those around him. He held high standards and valued a strong work ethic.
Passion for Sports and the Outdoors
A natural athlete, Michael was gifted in many sports and loved spending time outdoors. He excelled at water skiing, tennis, dirt bike riding, golf, and skiing. In 1994, Michael joined the Winter Park and Mary Jane Ski Patrol, proudly serving for 25 years alongside his fellow patrollers. He was also an avid hunter, always respecting the sport and the privilege of responsible firearm ownership.
A Man of Integrity
Michael was known for being a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried meaning and sincerity. His quiet demeanor was never mistaken, as his actions consistently spoke louder than words. He devoted his life to his wife, sons, family, and friends, pouring his heart into everything he did—whether mowing the lawn, washing his truck, rerouting a truck or bringing an injured skier down a mountain in a sled.
