Michael Anthony Kinstad

November 8, 1967 — August 12, 2023

Michael Anthony Kinstad, age 55, died peacefully in his home in Commerce City on August 12, 2023.

Born November 8, 1967 in Rapid City, South Dakota, Mike (aka "The Meme King") moved to Baltimore MD as a small child and then his family moved to Northglenn, CO in 1975. He attended Stukey Elementary, Northeast Middle school, and graduated from Northglenn High School in 1985.

Mike led a very active and eventful life, including playing semi-pro soccer and worked as a police officer with Red Rocks Community College. Mike worked with the Federal Government since 2018 and found his dream position with the Bureau of Reclamation and planned to retire as a Federal Agent.

Mike enjoyed his new found hobby as a sports podcaster and undoubtedly knew his stats. If you were around him long enough, he would sing a few lines from an obscure hard metal song from the 80s and was quite the gifted Karaoke singer. Mike enjoyed spending quality time hanging with his friends and especially Michelle, his loving wife of 18 years.  Nobody was safe from his plethora of memes on a daily basis.  Mike and Michelle recently started embarking on road trips to find their retirement home and enjoyed all the adventures along the way.

In addition to his beloved wife, Michelle, Mike leaves behind 5 children, Ashlee Kinstad of Denver, Adam Kinstad and Chase Kinstad both of Brighton, Michael Montelongo of Commerce City, Eva and (Adam) Ankele of Dacono, 6 grandchildren, Angel 22, Giovanni (Papa Jr.) 17, Sophia 8, Cameron (Bear) 5, Everlynn 3, Liam 4 weeks. He is also survived by his loving mother Linda Lippold and stepfather Les Lippold of Northglenn; 4 sisters, Lisa (Paul) Pollock of Frederick, Laura Kinstad of Thornton, L'Rae (Mike) Myers of Denver, and Felicia (Paul) Mikoll of Colorado Springs. Mike was preceeded in death by his father, Leo Kinstad of Lead, South Dakota, nephew Carlos Becerra of Denver, and mother-in-law Eva Blanco (Ronnie) of Sun City West, AZ.

We know Mike is smiling up in heaven getting to kick that ball around with his friends Scott and Tano once again.
