Woodland creatures, rejoice! The legendary hunter Michael E. Freeman has set out on his final journey, no longer roaming the meadows, mountains, and forests he loved.
Born on March 5, 1958, he lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and stories worth telling. Though he loved the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt, he always found his way back home to his faith and family. He enjoyed cooking bountiful barbecue meals with fresh veggies from his garden, hosting gatherings and parties with neighbors and friends, or quiet evenings spent on the porch with his canine companions.
He passed peacefully on the summer morning of June 24, 2026, with his lifelong sweetheart and devoted wife, Carla, by his side. He is survived by his spouse, three daughters, two sons-in-law, two granddaughters, siblings, extended family, friends, and countless elk, antelope, deer, waterfowl, and fish.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local parks and wildlife department, or simply take a hike.
Until we meet again, happy trails, Mike.
