Maurice A. Larue, Jr. worked in the field of aerospace for 45 years, 35 of which were with Martin Marietta at both their Orlando and Denver facilities. He was head of the Human Factors group at both facilities and then as the head of Systems Engineering on various programs at the Denver facility. His most rewarding programs were the Pershing and Peacekeeper missile programs for both the Army and Air Force, and Skylab and the International Space Station for NASA. He finished his working career with 15 years at Foleys/Macys at Southwest Plaza in Littleton, selling ladies shoes; he was a volunteer supporter at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Maurice was an avid follower of the Rockies, Broncos and Nuggets; supported the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Opera and various Denver area theaters producing both drama and musical venues. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and the U.S., and loved to play bridge on both the social and competitive levels. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his sons Stephen (Candace), David (Suzanne), and Michael (Silvia); his daughters Annette (Rob) Hanson and Catherine (John) Peng; and his six grandchildren, Justin Larue (Laura) de Vesine, Jennifer Larue (Jeremy) Barrett, Nicholas and Thomas Larue, and Mason and Robert Peng. A Mass in celebration of his life will be held at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church in Lakewood on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM, preceded by a viewing at 9:30 AM, followed by breakfast in the lower level of the church, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, he requested that donations may be made to the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and the Music Department of Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church.
