Matthew Lynn Mason

On the morning of December 31, 2014, Matt passed away at the age of 35 after battling cancer for the past year. He was surrounded by family at the time of his peaceful death at Porter Hospice Residence in Centennial, Colorado. Matthew Lynn Mason was born in Denver, Colorado on November 21, 1979 to William ""Bill"" Bernard and Alison Rich Mason of Castle Rock, Colorado. He was the oldest of four children and their only son. Matt graduated from Douglas County High School in 1998 and received his B.S. from the University of Northern Colorado in 2002. He married the love of his life, Hether Ry'n Reynolds on May 24, 2003. He and his wife lived in Greeley, Colorado where Matt started his career in information technology and had a successful career as a systems and virtualization administrator. Hether and Matt built their lives and many friendships in the northern Colorado area. Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Bill; paternal grandmother, Shirley Louise Mason of Denver; and maternal grandfather Joe Lynn Rich of Dallas, Texas. Matthew is survived by his wife Hether Ry'n Mason; mother Alison Rich Mason; sisters Alaina K. (D.J.) Meyers, Lauren P. (Michael) Schlager and Kerry L. Mason; his niece Jade A. Moore; and grandparents Bill and Leslie Mason, and Linda Rich. Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 6, 5-7 PM.
