Matthew Michael Mannion, age 24, passed away on November 6th, 2021 in his home. He was born in Denver, Colorado on April 11th, 1997. Matt attended the University of Kansas and the University of Colorado Denver, where he was studying communication. He was a bookkeeper at Inga’s Alpine Tavern and a trading card collector and seller. Matt was an avid sports fan. His life was met with many challenges, despite all of that, he persevered. He learned to snow board, played tennis and lacrosse. Matt’s smile and laughter brought joy to so many. Matt enjoyed traveling and loved to swim in the ocean. He was an amazing son, nephew, cousin and friend to so many. The loss of his life is incomprehensible but his memory will stay in our hearts and minds forever.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, George Mannion. He is survived by his mother, Julie Mannion, his uncles Peter and James Kirchhof, Tim Blunk, George Armatas, of Denver, Michael and Tim Mannion, and John Winterstella, of New Jersey; his aunts, Katie Armatas, Betsy Blunk, Julie Kirchhof, of Denver and Gail Mannion Winterstella, Mary Ellen Mannion, Melissa Mannion, and Cecira Mannion of New Jersey; his cousins, Nick Kirchhof, Sarah McGann, Will and Mallory Blunk, Luke Armatas, of Denver and John Daniel, Matt, Connor, Brendan, Brian and Tim Mannion and of New Jersey.
The celebration of Matt’s life will take place on November 20th, 2021 at 1:30 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 East 7th Ave, Parkway, Denver, Colorado 80206. Following the memorial, family and friends are welcome to gather at Syrup City Park, 1875 York Street, Denver, Colorado 80206.
