Matthew âMattâ Michael Curran, 40 of Parker, Colorado, passed away February 20, 2020. Matt was born on March 24, 1979 in Boulder, Colorado to Linda and Michael Curran.
To Matthew, family came first. A loving son, husband, brother and friend; his ideal day was time spent with those he loved. Everything else came next. Those that knew him, loved him. How can you not love a gentle, kind, accepting, selfless person?
Matthew was a free-thinker. He enjoyed a deep, philosophical conversation over a bud lite or White Russian. If you're thinking Big Lebowskiâs ""The Dude"" you're close, but Matthew was simply brilliant in comparison. He never had an unkind word for anyone and would rather harshly judge himself than others. A fiercely loyal friend who was always up for some fun. Just ask his best friend Andrew and his Sigma Chi brothers. They have the best stories and some maybe a little shocking, in a good way!
Matthew was the ultimate Star Wars fan. He was all in⦠from camping out overnight when movies were released to tracking down the rarest memorabilia â he loved it all. And ask him anything⦠""How fast did the Millennium Falcon make the Kessel Run?"" Yeah, that's an easy one. Second to Matt's Star Wars knowledge would be all the collectibles he spent decades searching for and saving. As much as he loved Star Wars, he was the ultimate movie buff. In fact he should've been a film critic but he can do that in heaven. Here on earth he had a great skill set for IT that he was able to put to great use and build a career upon. Outside of IT he had a great passion for classic literature and history.
And then came along his wife Desiree who rivaled his passion for both literature and Star Wars. Not all of us are lucky enough to stumble upon our soulmate in this lifetime⦠Matthew and Des were fortunately able to and share true love. And fun adventures in Florida, California, Texas and Nebraska, never to be rivaled by the ultimate chili festival in Pueblo, Colorado. Matthew loved his in-laws and was so appreciative to have married a woman with such a big, fun, welcoming family.
In speaking to Matthew as a son and brother. No son has ever loved his parents so purely as Matthew. And he shared a special bond with his mom, Linda. As a brother, was the most sensitive soul. A best friend. Someone I trusted to protect me, someone I would in turn protect. Matthew was a special and patient uncle and loved his nieces. Outwardly they favored him to anyone.
Matthew, we love you beyond words and will miss you every single day. We will keep your legacy alive by sharing the best stories of you and looking up to heaven for your guidance and love. Thank you for being a part of our lives and bringing a light into our world that only you could give. Rest in peace beloved Matthew.
May the force be with you, always.
In honor of Matthew, a Rosary/ Vigil will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Reception/ Visitation to follow at 7:30pm. Matthew absolutely loved Mexican cuisine. After we share time together during the vigil, we'll be enjoying a buffet dinner and serving some of Matt's most preferred beverages. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 beginning at 11am, Risen Christ Catholic Church (3060 S Monaco Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222). An escorted procession will take place directly after the Mass for a Graveside Service, 1pm at Seven Stones Cemetery (9635 N Rampart Range Rd, Littleton, CO 80125).
