Matthew Roland Backus, 58, of Centennial, Colorado passed away at home on January 24, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1965 in Alexandria, Virginia to Roland and Ethel Backus.
Matt lived a life full of adventures and touched the hearts of the people around him wherever he went. He loved going to concerts, skiing, football, golf, nascar, the beach, spending time with his family, and a good beer.
He is survived by his daughter, Emily Kannenberg, and her husband, Adam, of New Hampshire, his sisters Karen, Cathy, and Chris of Virginia, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 4pm at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home on E. County Line Road in Centennial, CO.
Matt’s legacy will continue to live on through his loved ones and all of the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
