Matilde (""Tillie"") Salazar Martinez, 86, passed away in Denver on Dec 10, 2019.
Born March 14, 1933 and raised in Springer, New Mexico, she lived in, Raton, N.M., Albuquerque, N.M., Anaconda, MT, and Denver and worked as an RN at St. Anthony's Hospital in the nursery. Tillie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish where she found joy in the choir, confirmation teaching, the youth ministry, the food bank and vacation bible school. Her efforts were recognized by the Northglenn City Councils and the Adams County Supervisors. She was also a volunteer for the 9Health Fair for over 25 years.
Tillie is survived by Sandra Martinez (Rick Skelton), Carmen Martinez (James Nicholson), and Celina Martinez of Denver, & Sam Martinez (Dianne) of Orangevale, CA; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Grandson David Martinez, Son Louis Martinez, Father Trinidad Salazar, Mother Brijida Pacheco Salazar, Brothers Amarante, Joaquin & Victor Salazar; Sister Adelina Garcia.
Visitation Wednesday Dec. 18, 5pm followed by Rosary at 6pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish. Funeral Mass, Thursday, Dec. 19, 10:30am at Immaculate Heart, followed by reception. Burial to follow, Olinger Highland at 1:30pm.
Memorial contributions are welcome at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (food bank or youth ministry).
