Mathias (Matt) William Fleck, Sr. was born on May 4, 1923 to Michael and Mathilda Fleck in Flasher, North Dakota. He was the second of seven children. He is survived by four siblings, 2 brothers, Steve of North Platte, NE and Ted of Missoula, MT and two sisters, Mary of Carmichael, CA and Phyllis of Mandan, ND. Two brothers (Mike and Roger) preceded him in death. His beloved wife Annette preceded him in death in November, 2011. He is survived by eight children: Karen (Louie), Virginia/Ginni (Michael), Diana, Janice, Bill (Diane), Matt, Lenny (Becki) and Connie, 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Their infant son James died shortly after birth in 1956. Matt served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Shortly after his discharge he moved back to Bismarck, ND where he met and married his sweetheart, Annette, in July 1947. They moved to Colorado in 1950 where he got a job with Civil Service refueling aircraft. After 30 years Matt retired from Civil Service and then drove a school bus for the next ten years for Aurora Public Schools before retiring (for good). In between these jobs Matt also moonlighted as a bartender for the Aurora Elks Lodge 1921, where he was a lifetime member. In addition to his love of his family, Matt loved his Colorado sports teams, especially his Denver Broncos. His favorite past times were dancing (he and his wife could really burn up the dance floor) and playing his harmonica!
