Jean was born on August 18, 1939 to her parents, Roy and Maude (Woody) Hughes in Snowy Creek, North Carolina. She met her husband Paul Keys while selling insurance and they were married shortly thereafter on December 6, 1958. She moved to Colorado with her husband where they had two daughters and ran a successful photography repair business. She was active in her community and church. Jean passed away on March 4, 2024 in Lakewood, Colorado.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Charles III) and Paula (Benson); grandchildren, Charles (Alexis), Scott (Crystal), Robert, David, Wesley, Christina, Benson Jr., Clayeton (Ashley), and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Delilah, Bella, Madison, Callum, Natalie, Hope, KrisLynn, Torena; and great-great grandchildren, Syrius, Everitt, Masson, Landon, Octavia, Ember. Jean is survived by her Sister Deloris (Paul); nieces and nephews, Robin, Alan, Marilyn, Lorraine, Janice, Sue, Kevin, Glenn, Greg, Sean, John, Elaine, Penny, Robin, Matthew, Lacey.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents; her siblings Dale Hughes, Christina Hughes, nephew Sam Hughes, her grandson, Connor; great-grandson Lucas.
Her cremated remains will be placed with her husband's at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
