In Loving memory of Mary "Anita" (Mestas) Champ, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
Anita was born to Felix and Agapita Mestas, on August 15, 1951, in Trinidad, Colorado and was called to our Heavenly Father on October 24, 2021 peacefully at home in Denver, Colorado.
Anita grew up in Denver. She had 5 sisters and 4 brothers. She attended Denver Public Schools and worked at Sears Warehouse and Xcel Energy for 25 + years. She retired in August of 2016.
She enjoyed her retirement years caring for her children and grandchildren, playing bingo, traveling, spending time on the patio bird watching and many hours completing puzzles.
The family wishes to thank you for your many thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Anita is survived by her husband, Keith; children, Jamie, Paul and Leona; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters and 1 brother, mother in law, Elizabeth Anderson, 3 brother in laws and 2 sister in laws. She is preceded in death by her parents and 5 siblings.
A Memorial Service honoring Anita's life will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood. A Committal Service will follow at 1:15pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
