Mary Currier Ratkovich

Mary C. Ratkovich (Engel), age 82, long-time resident of Arvada, CO, passed peacefully in her sleep on October 23, 2026.

Mary was born to Robert and Margaret (Allen) Engel on December 30, 1943, in Rochester, MN. Mary graduated from Stewartville Senior High in 1962 and continued her education at Macalester College where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in microbiology.

Mary was united in marriage with D. Ron Ratkovich on June 14, 1969. They made their home in Arvada, CO where Mary worked as a microbiologist at St. Joseph Hospital for 45 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ron.

Survivors include her brother, John (Carol) Engel of Rochester, MN and several nephews, Chris (Beth), Ben (Tara), Kayla, Maya, Ethan, Sue Brown, Tom, Robert and Daniel Ratkovich .

Mary and Ron enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises, her last was to Australia and New Zealand. She had many wonderful friends and enjoyed get togethers in Denver and Arizona. She enjoyed reading and helped SCOPE for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held 11am, Monday, November 16, 2026, at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 7577 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada.
