Mary Frances Palumbo

Mary Francis "Francie" Palumbo (Burke), age 87, passed away on August 13, 2024, in Arvada, Colorado. Born on July 4, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, Francie was known for her faith, warm spirit, and nurturing nature. Francie graduated from Holy Family High School and went on to a lead a life full of love and dedication to her family.

She was married to the late Ken Palumbo, and together they raised a beautiful, large family. Francie is survived by her 9 children: Diana (Pete) Lupfer, Ginny (Dave) Simpson, Mike Palumbo, Chris (Dan) Pocrnick, Phil (Becky) Palumbo, Shari (Scott) Burns, Kenny (Cindy) Palumbo, Annette (Mario) Bourguet and Beth Durant. She was a cherished grandmother to 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren one great great grandchild. Her legacy continues through her sisters, Barb McShane, and Loretta (Dwight) Kjederquist and sister in-laws Veronica, Rosemary, Kathy and Rosalie Burke along with numerous nieces and nephews. Francie was preceeded in death by her husband Ken, her parents John and Frances Burke, father and mother in law, Art and Ruth Palumbo, her brothers Joe, Jim, Tom, Larry and Johnny Burke. Her son in-law Rob Durant, daughter in-law Donna Palumbo and grandson Matt Saba. 

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wheatridge, Colorado at 10 am on Friday August 30th. A reception to follow at 11:30 am at the Table Mountain Event Center in Golden, Colorado. The family has entrusted Horan & McConaty in Arvada, Colorado with the funeral arrangements. A private burial will be held on Saturday at Mount Olivet. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Francie's memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, an organization she deeply cared about. Francie will be dearly missed by all who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
