Mary Virginia Minson was born on March 13, 1926 and died on July 12, 2021 at 95 years old. She was the daughter of Harry and Cecilia Kelsey.
Mary was born in Bethalto, Illinois and lived in Florida and Texas before settling in Colorado. She was a compassionate caretaker which drew her to the nursing field. She attended Hardin College in Wichita Falls, TX and St. Paul’s Nursing School in Dallas, graduating in 1947. Mary enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a hospital and head nurse in Denver and Aurora for 35 years.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Minson whom she married in Denver.
She is survived by her brother Harry Kelsey Jr., and three children Carol Schluederberg, Chris Carpio, and Alan Minson. She had four grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Alexis Clark, Chance Clark and Emily Minson. Her family was the greatest joy of her life.
Always interested in art, Mary had a talent for painting landscape and scenic paintings. Travel was Mary’s passion. She particularly enjoyed cruising with her sisters and family having visited Europe, Central and South America. Mary volunteered many years for the Assistance League Denver.
The service will be held on July 26 at 9:30am at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 South Monaco Street, Denver.
