Mary Curtan McGowan, 83, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born on October 19, 1942, in Denver, CO, Mary was the second of four children born to Thomas and Eleanor Curtan.

Mary was the beloved wife of Jack McGowan, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and laughter. They were truly devoted to one another and set a wonderful example for what a loving marriage should look like.

She was a devoted mother to her three children: son Michael McGowan (Kim), daughter Katie Stowe (Joe), and son Matthew McGowan. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a woman of faith and gratitude for all that she had and experienced in this lifetime.

Mary was an amazing and very proud grandmother to Thomas Stowe and his wife Emily, Maggie Stowe, Patrick McGowan, Mia McGowan, Emily McGowan, Mable McGowan, Maddie Underwood, and Kennedy Underwood, and was a loving great-grandmother to Madeline Stowe. She was also a dedicated older sister to Judith Sims and Deborah Curtan.

Mary will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and grace. She had a gift for making everyone feel at ease with her warmth and compassion. A wonderful entertainer with impeccable taste, Mary filled every room with laughter and beauty. She was funny, loyal, and a reliable true friend to all who knew her.

The family is broken-hearted to say goodbye to their beloved Mary and will miss her every day but are comforted by her last days that were filled with faith, love, laughter, gratitude and her family closely around her.
