Mary Ellen Krenzer

Mary Ellen Krenzer ended her journey through life on June 2nd, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born Mary Ellen Walsh on March 27th, 1926 to Joseph P. Walsh and Irma Gasperetti. A native of Denver, Colorado she grew up through the challenges of the Great Depression and met the love of her life, Harry Krenzer on the eve of World War II. Like many women of her era, she worked throughout the war, until Harry returned and quit her job for her. Married on November 17th 1945, she stayed at home with their five children until they grew self-reliant, at which point she went back to the work force and became politically active. Starting as a secretary for her beloved Catholic church, her indomitable work ethic kept her in the workforce until the ripe old age of 86. Survived by children Laura, Gerald, Linda, Michael and Gary; grandchildren Ronnie. Jody, Christopher, Jeremiah, Michael, Sasha, Stephen, Amy, Harry, Erik, Conner, and Michael; great-grandchildren Savanah, Arielle, Ayden, Paige and Cooper. Preceded in death by husband Harry Krenzer and grandson Gary Krenzer. The Rosary will be held Wednesday, June 8th at 7pm at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, Colo. Funeral Mass June 9th at 10 am at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Lakewood, Colo. Reception to follow. She will be buried with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
