In memory of Mary Louise Juneau, who lost her battle to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on January 18, 2020 at University of Colorado Health Center, Aurora, Colorado. Mary will be missed by her family and friends in Colorado, California, as well as Harbor Springs Michigan and southern Michigan.
Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard; her children, Carol Beeley of Highlands Ranch, Steve Juneau of Steamboat Springs and Mark Juneau of South Lake Tahoe; and her grandchildren, Isabel (Izzy), AJ, Charlie, Samantha, Jacob, Benjamin, and Patrick. Mary was preceded in death by her father Milton Pastirzyk, her mother Eleanore Pastirzyk Whitworth, and her son, Michael Katafiasz.
Mary was born in Detroit in 1942. She graduated from Borgess School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse in hospitals, doctors offices and later as a supervisor at the Red Cross, retiring in 2007. She also provided care for AIDS patients in Detroit in the 1980's with the AIDS Interfaith Network.
Mary was active in several organizations in Harbor Springs, including but not limited to Harbor Springs Women's Club (serving as president), Harbor Point Women's Golf League, and the Northern Michigan Trail Association.
Services will be held on February 14, 2020 at 11:00am at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 5303 E. County Line Road, Littleton, CO with a Catholic Mass followed by lunch. Burial will be at Holy Childhood Cemetery in Harbor Springs sometime in late spring or early summer. Further details to follow.
