Mary Killarney Ayers, 87, of Aurora, passed away on April 16, 2015 in Aurora, Colorado. Mary Killarney was born in Boulder, Colorado to William and Dorothy Porter on May 29, 1927. Even then she volunteered and served on the Aurora Public Library Board and the Arapahoe County Mental Health Board. In 1972 she blazed trails by running for the Colorado House of Representatives with a platform stressing mental health issues, but lost. She always enjoyed books and sewing, but her greatest enjoyment came from her family â her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
