Marlene Kay Snyder, 86, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away October 31, 2024 from a stroke. She was lovingly surrounded by her husband and family who will miss her very much.
Marlene was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on September 28, 1938 to John Wesley Archer and Marvel Louise Stuart. She was one of 6 children and is survived by her sister Ruth Palmer. Marlene married Skip Poyfair July 1956 and had 5 children, DJ, Robyn, Suzi, Brenda and Jack. After Skip’s death, Marlene married Bernie Snyder March 1997. Together they have 26 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Marlene was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Arvada. She is loved by many who she has served with in so many different callings throughout the years to include, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, Young Women’s President (6 times), Road Show Director, Librarian and several other positions. Marlene loved all the details in nature from clouds to trees, flowers, rocks and sea life in her snorkeling years. But fishing was her passion. She loved collecting Beanie Babies and learning to quilt, making quilts and Christmas Tree skirts for all her children and grandchildren. She loved to serve and help people and was a dear friend to so many. She was especially loved by her little dog Coco.
The family will be holding a Viewing at Horan & McConaty Tuesday, Nov 5th from 6-8pm at (7577 w 80th Ave, Arvada 80003.) The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, Nov 6th at 11am (viewing starting at 10am) at the Alkire Building (12995 W 72nd Ave, Arvada, 80005). Internment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery (12801 W 44th Ave Wheat Ridge 80033).
