July 5th, 1936 – May 27th, 2025. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marlene Mae Bails, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Born in Huntington Park, California. She lived nearly her entire life in Southern California, until moving to Colorado in July of 2022. Marlene married Lawrence (Larry) Wayne Bails 17 October 1958 where they began their journey together.
Marlene was a mother to two sons, Grandmother to 7, and a great-grandmother to one boy (Ollie). Marlene was predeceased by her husband Larry in 2014. She enjoyed traveling, reading and needle-pointing. Her and Larry were members of the “Camping Kangaroos” camping club and also ventured out on long trips across the United States and Canada in their retirement years visiting family, friends and sites of interest. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating and water skiing, spending many summers at Clear Lake and then at Canyon Lake where the family had a home on the water. Following her move to Colorado, she quickly became friends with many residents at her new home at Parkside Village, where she was an avid card player, Wii-bowling and Wii-baseball player. She was also able to spend quality time with her family following her move to Colorado. Marlene, Mom, and Grandma will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts and memories.
Please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in name.
