Another Soldier has passed away. Retired Air Force Brigadier General and highly decorated veteran Mark J. Worrick, 82, of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania passed away August 27, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. A 1949 graduate of Bellefonte High School, Mark enlisted in the Air Force and graduated from the Accounting and Finance Technical School in 1951. In 1956 he was selected and graduated from Officer Candidate School. During his extraordinary military career of 37 years, Mark left his legacy in Accounting, Budgeting and Fiscal Planning. He began his service in Erding, Germany, served three tours at the Pentagon, and was based in several locations stateside and overseas supporting Air Force operations worldwide. His last assignment, a capstone to his achievements, was Commander, United States Air Force Accounting and Finance Center, Denver, Colorado. He loved orchestrating budgets and was most proud to provide the resources needed to support our fighting forces. Upon retirement in 1988, Mark continued to be a strong proponent of Air and Space Power, and held positions in several civic, community, and charitable organizations. A loving and faithful servant of the Lord, Mark was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Mark is survived by his wife, Evelyn Marlene of 61 years; children Roger, Matthew, Theresa and Mark II; grandchildren Nancy, Beckie, Ashley, Michael, Samantha, John, Alex, Joseph, Jared, and Lauren; great-grandchildren Cameron and Oliver; brother Joseph; and sister Rita. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, September 2nd, 10:00 am at Risen Christ Catholic Parish, with viewing one hour prior, 3060 S Monaco Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222.
