Mark Alan Striegnitz

Mark Alan Striegnitz, age 70, of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mark was born July 5, 1955, in Houston, Texas, and spent his early childhood in Gary, Indiana before moving to Denver, Colorado with his parents, Richard and Phyllis.

Mark attended Mapleton High School, participating in the school's track and cross-country teams, and graduated in 1973. He went on to Western State University, running cross-country, while completing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1977.

After university, he returned to Denver and started working in the automotive industry as a salesman. Working in the automotive industry, he met his wife, Elenny “Leni” Musgrave, and they were married in 1981. In 1983, they opened their own dealership, Mark’s Auto Sales. Mark was an active advocate for the automotive industry, serving as president of the Colorado Independent Automobile Dealers Association (CIADA) in 1997, and was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Colorado Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. In the community, he was best known on local TV advertisements, wearing his American flag button down shirt and cowboy hat. In 2018, Mark was elected to the CIADA Dealer Hall of Fame.

Through marriage, Mark was baptized to the Orthodox Christian faith in 1981. Mark and Leni welcomed son, Theodore in 1984, and daughter, Anastasia in 1985.

Beyond his time spent at his dealership, Mark pursued an interest in aviation, attaining his private pilot’s license in 1984. Mark supported Leni and the kids' equestrian interests but particularly enjoyed maintaining their property on the weekends behind the wheel of his tractor. Through the years he also enjoyed running, lifting weights, and even picked up cycling the local Bear Creek bike path in his 60s. Throughout his life, he had been an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, hunting, and fishing.

Mark is survived by his children, Theodore and Anastasia, and sister, Lisa (Ric) Woldow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elenny Striegnitz, and parents, Richard and Phyllis Striegnitz.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10th, 10am at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 4550 East Alameda Ave, Denver with a reception to follow. Interment will be the same day at 2pm at Golden Cemetery.
