Mark Froehlich

Mark Froehlich of Aurora, Colorado passed away June 8, 2024 of natural causes. He was born in 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Alberta Froehlich and R. J. Murphy. Although a native of Illinois, he spent most of his childhood and adult life in Tennessee. He graduated high school in Nashville, and attended Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee. In later years he earned his nursing degree at Pickens Technical College in Aurora.

 

Mark is survived by his sister Christine Froehlich and her husband Jack Mewhorter of Aurora Colorado, sisters Ritchie Froehlich of Santa Barbara CA, Andrea Ward and husband Lindsay Ward of Washington UT, Ellen Moore of Knoxville TN, Thorp Froehlich of Florida, his devoted cat Ninja, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Michelle Froehlich and Virginia Froehlich.

 

Mark was a US Navy veteran, and worked as a nurse at the VA hospitals in Denver and Johnson City TN. The majority of his career in counseling and nursing was spent helping his fellow veterans.

 

Mark was also a talented artist in several mediums. He was most prolific in oils and watercolors. He also sculpted in wood, clay and stone. He was an accomplished woodworker, building furniture, clocks, and picture frames in his garage shop.

 

Mark is remembered for his caring personality, sense of humor and quick wit, and love of the natural world that he expressed in his art. His sense of adventure led him to travel extensively in the US and Europe.

 

Mark’s service will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. He is sorely missed by his loving family.
