Mark Robert Fabian, Sr.

April 5, 1960 — May 12, 2017

Mark Robert Fabian Sr. passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Littleton, CO from a pulmonary thromboembolism on May 12th, 2017. He was 57 years old. Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Christine Rohwedder, his four children, Mark Robert Jr. (Katie), Cada Mackenzie, Jacob Everett, Carly Leilani, and his granddaughter, Blake Charlotte and upcoming Baby Fabian. He is also survived by his supportive parents-in-law Bob and Carol Rohwedder. He is preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, Michael and Christine Fabian and maternal grandparents Jerry and Marie Cada. Mark was born on April 5, 1960 in Berwyn, Illinois to Robert Michael and Sally Lillian Cada. He grew up in Bruce Lake in Downer's Grove, IL, with his siblings Michael Scott (Becky) and Marlea Marie (Ralph). He was an active boy who loved sports, motocross, and exploring the outdoors. He grew to be a talented athlete at Downer's Grove South High School. After graduation, he took off on his motorcycle to Idaho, where he built log homes before attending Boise State. He was the ""BMOC"" (Big Man on Campus), and met Christine, shortly after which time he shouted that he loved her out a window. Two and a half years later, they were married at Evergreen Christian Church on June 7th, 1986 in Evergreen, CO. Mark then began his 31-year career in hotel management, and was deeply respected and loved by his friends and coworkers. He remained an active outdoorsman throughout his life, mountain-biking, hiking, and golfing often. He was an excellent skier, going on yearly trips with his buddies, exploring mountains from Alaska to Japan. He was also a tenacious football and basketball coach. He was exceptionally charitable, witty, and charismatic. Mark took every opportunity to pay it forward. In Christine he met his match, the two of them sharing their responsibilities equally and building one another up through all phases of their life together. He was a proud father, who loved the individuals each of his children are becoming. He was a tremendously doting grandfather. He was a man truly in his prime, having never ceased to willingly learn from his successes and failures. Each year he grew in compassion, patience, and fulfillment. Although it was far shorter than we can accept, his life was colorful and rich, full of love and accomplishment. In lieu of flowers, to honor Mark, a donation can be made to Jeffco Action Center in memory of him, as he was known for his continuous generosity to pay it forward.
