Mark Wayne Blatter

August 5, 1961 — June 4, 2025

New Castle

Mark W. Blatter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend was called home on June 4, 2025 in New Castle, CO. He was born on August 5, 1961 in Denver, CO to Shirley Blatter (deceased) and Kenneth Blatter.

Mark grew up and attended schools in the Wheat Ridge and then in the Idaho Springs area. After completion of high school, he joined the United States Navy with local dear friends through the buddy program. He served on the USS Cimarron, an oil tanker for underway replenishment. His time in the service lead him to reside in Boulder City, NV; where he met his beloved wife, Geraldine. They were married in Bayonne, NJ on September 8, 1990. Then went on to have their extraordinary daughter, Jessie a few years later. Mark spent his working life as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in the Las Vegas metro area, before retirement in Staten Island, NY. He was incredibly talented, most people referring to him as an artist who worked with sheet metal. He also enjoyed drawing, which he used to his advantage in his line of work by creating and sketching project ideas then bringing them to life with sheet metal and/or other materials.

Family and friends were at the very core of his being, and most important in his life. He enjoyed family gatherings and loved catching up with friends. Mark always made you feel seen, heard, loved and respected. He always knew just what to say, and gave the very best advice. If he was able, he would be there for absolutely anyone in need, in the blink of an eye. His laugh was contagious, his smile infectious, eyes glistening, and his heart pure. When not with family or friends, Mark spent his time outdoors and had a passion for building and customizing model vehicles. His attention to detail and creativity were second to none. He spent nearly every minute of his days with the world’s very best pup, Sadie. He had an adoration for animals, and enjoyed going on drives with his music loud, jeeping, four wheeling, fishing, and hunting.

Mark is survived by a host of family that include his devoted wife, Geraldine Kobryn-Blatter; loving daughter, Jessie (Patrick); precious grandchildren, Olive, Finnegan, and Molly. Father, Kenneth Blatter. Mother-in-law Helen Kobryn. Siblings, Debbie (Hugo), and Tammy (Gary). Sister-in-laws, Michelle (Emilio), and Karen (Glenn). As well a host of wonderful beloved nieces and nephews (Crystal (Greg), Rachel (Shain), Nathan (Tania), Sarah (Jason), Brandon, Jackie, Gary (Paige), Christina (Leo), Krista, Anna, and Jacqueline; along with several great- nieces and nephews, very many close loving cousins, and numerous dear friends. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Blatter, sister Wendee, father-in-law Michael Kobryn, and brother-in-laws Michael and Paul.
