Marjorie Virginia Haas-Power, age 100, passed away on 12/10/2022. Marjorie will be missed for her great sense of humor and devotion to her family.
Marjorie was born to Florence Gillis Haas and Charles Norbert Haas in Colorado Springs, CO, on July 28, 1922. She was the granddaughter of pioneer contractor Archibald Joseph Gillis of Manitou Springs CO and sister to Reverend Theodore A. Haas of Colorado Springs. On January 8, 1946, she married Winfield Scott Power, Jr., a handsome soldier from New Orleans, LA, stationed at Camp Carson, CO. They made their home in Denver, CO. Marjorie is survived by her 7 children, John W. (Jan), Richard S. (Myra), Katherine A. (Trisha Solio), Mary E. (John Whittaker), Joan M., Claudia J. (George Jansen) and Robert J. (Dennis Hanson). She was grandmother to 12 and great-grandmother to 16. She was preceded in death by her husband (Winfield), brother (Ted), daughter-in-law (Jan) and grandson (Scott).
Marjorie had a long and successful career as a Registered Nurse, tending to new- born babies at various hospitals throughout the Denver area. She especially loved working with "her" preemies.
Marjorie and Winfield Power were highly active in the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver, practicing their strong faith every single day of their lives.
A private celebration of Life Mass will be held at Gardens of St. Elizabeth's Chapel in January 2023.
Graveside Interment will be 2:15pm Monday, January 9, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
