Marjorie Lynn Harford

May 1, 1951 — January 6, 2026

Elizabeth

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Marjorie “Margie” Lynn Harford (Hunter), age 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Elizabeth, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Stanley William Harford; her son, Craig Arron Harford; and her parents, Donald and Ruth Hunter.

Margie was born on May 1, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1969. On November 25, 1970, she married the love of her life, Stanley, in a courthouse ceremony in Cedar Rapids. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, hard work, and deep family bonds.

Margie lived a life defined by love and service—to her family, her friends, and her community. She and Stan spent many years driving trucks together, an adventure they shared with pride. She later continued driving locally on her own. Margie also worked alongside Stan at Waste Management as a receptionist—though, as her family fondly says, she truly did “everything Stan didn’t want to do.”

Margie’s true passion was sewing. She began her working years in a factory sewing jeans, where she discovered a lifelong love of creating with her hands. She could sew almost anything—clothes for her children when they were young, curtains and valances for her home, mending projects for friends and family, and even custom boat seats. One of her favorite memories was the year she and a close friend created all the window and bedding coverings for a Parade of Homes. One of her final and most meaningful projects was sewing a matching costume for her granddaughter and her horse, worn proudly at the National Western Stock Show trick-riding event.

Of all her roles, Margie was most proud of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy and her lasting legacy.

She is survived by her children, Brian, Carolyn, Christina, and bonus son Steven; her siblings, Dan and Julie; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family and friends who were blessed to share life with her.

A visitation and time of remembrance will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado, on January 23, 2026 at 10:30 AM with the service beginning at 11:30AM. Guests are warmly invited to stop by, share stories, and celebrate Margie’s life.

Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00PM, and all are welcome to attend. A reception will be held afterward at the VFW on Hampden, where family and friends are invited to continue sharing memories and fellowship.
