Marie ""Mimi"" McMahon

Marie Frances ""Mimi"" McMahon nee Kalamaja, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age 96. Marie was born July 4th, 1920 in Denver, CO. Her birthday suited her personality, as she was a firecracker. Marie graduated from Cathedral High School in 1938. She went on to receive a nursing degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1941. She married Thomas J. McMahon on November 24, 1942. They then proceeded to have 10 children. Marie took up nursing for a family of 12. Mimi loved to sew and embroider. She loved to make porcelain dolls and their clothes. She loved to travel, especially with fellow doll admirers to see the European doll makers and museums. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. McMahon and her son Gerald McMahon. Surviving children are: Michael (Nancy) McMahon, Oceanport, NJ; Stephen (Becky English) McMahon, Denver, CO; Stanley (Deedee Wieggel) McMahon, Ft. Collins, CO; Sarah McMahon, Lakewood, CO; Lois (Bob) Kirkham, Alamosa, CO; David (Laura) McMahon, Minneapolis, MN; Thomas (Anne Gentry) McMahon, Sissonville, WV; Kathy Urig, Denver, CO; John McMahon, Denver, CO, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be at Noon on Friday, April 21st, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7240 W. 12th Avenue, Lakewood, CO; (303)-233-1523. Interment will be at 9:30 AM on Monday, April 24th, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO.
