Margaret Ann Pitton, age 94, passed away on October 23rd, 2022 in Lakewood CO. She was born in Denver, CO. to Michael and Susie (Assunta) Lamirato, on May 4th 1928, and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years William Pitton.
She was born into a loving Italian family, the second oldest of eight. As one of the oldest, she proudly assumed the role of helping her mother with raising the younger children. Her siblings remember her as cheerful, funny, and always thinking of others.
She attended Mt. Carmel Elementary as a child where she was an honor student, and obtained a scholarship to Cathedral High. In the last few months of her senior year she had to quit school to help her mother due to complications from childbirth. She selflessly took care of her mother and the younger children.
Shortly after, she met her future husband William Pitton. The two were married on October 18th 1953 at Mt. Carmel Church. They went on to have 4 children, Judy Sampson, William Pitton, Terese Pitton, and Gary Pitton, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild with another on the way. They raised their family in Arvada CO, where they lived for 55 years.
While she was busy being a mother and grandmother, she also worked at US West in Downtown Denver for many years. In the hussle and bussle she always had time for her grandchildren to spend the night, take them to Elitches or just have them over the house to play, which ended up leading to an early retirement at age 62, so she could enjoy more time with her family. Family was always her top priority!
Margaret was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, but most of all she was an absolute angel on earth. She was the kindest, most loving woman. She had a light about her that will never burn out. And she will be greatly missed.
